Active engagement in the
political life of our community by employers and their employees can make a
big difference to your business, as well as for our overall business climate
and quality of life. MCCC helps our members get active, be effective and
make a difference.
The 2002 elections in
Montgomery County were a prime example. MCCC took a lead role in organizing
local businesses and their employees to stand up and demand serious
solutions to our growing traffic crisis. As a result of our efforts, two
long-time incumbent members of the Montgomery County Council who had stood
in the way of real traffic relief were defeated in their re-election bids.
Now we see key projects like the Montrose Parkway, the InterCounty
Connector, and the Inner Purple Line moving forward. Our member’s active
involvement made the difference.
