What is the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP)?

The VIP is a 6-session comprehensive certification program for veteran businesses to increase their ability to win government contracts by establishing best business practices. An initiative of the
Montgomery County Community Foundation (MCCCF), VIP is designed by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce GovConNet program. VIP launched on September 10, 2009.

Who is eligible for the VIP program?

Eligible applicants 1) must be a veteran business owner, principal or C-level executive for a veteran-business owned company 2) in business for at least 2 years with a minimum of 3-4 full time employees; 3) has experience working on government contracts as a prime and/or sub-contractor to a prime; and 4) with 2008 annual revenues less than $25 million. VIP enrollment is not limited to Montgomery County businesses.

How much does it cost?


Fully funded by the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation and VIP sponsors, the program is at no cost to participants. 


How many applicants will be enrolled in the VIP?

Class size is limited to 35-40 individuals.


Is there a waiting list?


Yes.


Where will the VIP program take place?


VIP will take place in a TBA location in Bethesda, Maryland.


What are the class dates and times?

The 2010 Winter VIP class dates are
January 14, January 28, February 11, February 25, March 11 and March 25.

 

How do I register for the program?

You can register for the VIP Program by filling out this form
online. Applicants will be notified within 4 weeks of registration.

Who are the class instructors?

Top executives from professional service companies will be leading the VIP program. Executives from Aronson & Company, Catapult Technology, Cordia Partners, C2 PortfolioLockheed Martin, Mountaintop Marketing Group LLC, Piliero Mazza PLLC, The Insurance Exchange Inc., Technology and Business Solutions, Venable LLP, and Watkins, Meegan, Drury & Company LLC
will be participating in this program.

What is GovConNet?
