Purple Line

The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce supports transportation solutions that connect workers to their jobs, promote economic development, relieve traffic congestion and benefit our environment.
After decades of underinvestment in our transporation infrastructure, we must make building new road and transit capacity a priority to ensure our community's future competitiveness and to keep Montgomery County Moving.
This fall is an important time for securing Federal support for two critical regional transportation projects: The Purple Line and the Corridor Cities Transitway.
The Purple Line will provide a much-needed East-West transit link and relieve congestion on the Beltway by connecting Bethesda, Silver Spring, College Park and New Carrolton on a light rail system.
