In September 2009 the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation, in conjunction with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) and the Chamber’s GovConNet program will launch the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP), a training and education program for veteran business owners.
The VIP is a 6-session comprehensive certification program designed for veteran business owners to increase their ability to win contracts by establishing best business practices.
The VIP Training and Education Program will be offered twice a month to veteran business owners, at no cost. The program is not Montgomery County specific. Outreach will target veteran business owners across the metro area who are interested in best business practices, in the areas of:
· Business Structures
· Contracting/Teaming Agreements
· Human Resources
· Certifications
· Risk Mitigation
· Insurance and Bonding
· Internal Controls
· Accounting/Budgets/Developing Rates
· Compliance and Systems Approvals
· Marketing/Capture and Proposals
All proceeds from the MCCC Foundation Golf Tournament will go to the development of the VIP Education and Training Program.

The Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCC Foundation) is an independent 501(c)3 organization that operates primarily to perform research and/or disseminate information and educate the general public in Montgomery County, Maryland and its surrounding regions in the following areas:
