MISSION STATEMENT

The Foundation operates primarily to perform research and/or disseminate information and educate the general public in Montgomery County, Maryland and its surrounding regions, in these areas:

  • Economic Matters – Vision 2030:
Through its Vision 2030 planning process, MCCCF aims to help shape the county’s future – one that will be built on a vibrant and robust economy. By convening the best minds, the community as a whole can address such questions as:
    1. What is the context within which the County competes?
    2. Is Montgomery County winning or losing with regard to regional economic development?
    3. What are the best practices in economic development nationwide?
  • The Eco Initiative:
The Eco Initiative brings focus to the link between the economy and ecology, educating businesses on how to embrace best practices. With programs and educational outreach, MCCCF will help businesses transform challenges into opportunities as we navigate through a new eco-sensitive economy. MCCCF partnered with the Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection and Montgomery College and launched the Montgomery County Green Business Certification Program.
  • Public Safety:
The Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce Community Foundation supports the Public Safety Scholarship Fund at Montgomery College.
  • Veteran Institute for Procurement
MCCCF in conjunction with the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and MCCC GovConNet launched the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP), an educational training program for veteran business owners, principals and C-level executives. VIP is a 6-session comprehensive certification program instructed by professional service experts and designed for veteran businesses to increase their ability to win government contracts by establishing best business practices.
  • Health and Wellness Initiative:
MCCCF supports corporate health and wellness programs by educating employers about the strategic and economic value of creating a healthy workplace. Corporate health and wellness best practices are proven to bring returns on investment through employee retention and reductions in insurance costs. The Health and Wellness Initiative highlights creative programs companies can employ in this arena.
