2010 FDA On-Site Visit

On December 6, 2010, more than 300 government contractors visited the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's White Oak Campus at the third annual Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce GovConNet On-Site Agency Visit at FDA. Featured speaker, FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret A. Hamburg, M.D., discussed FDA’s expanded national mission and also its impressive local presence in Montgomery County. A panel of FDA contracting and acquisition personnel then outlined current and future contracting opportunities available to small businesses. Participants then had the opportunity to speak one-on-one with the panelists and network with fellow government contractors.

2010 NIST On-Site Visit

The first-ever NIST On-Site Visit, sponsored by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and its GovConNet program, gave more than 500 local businesses valuable insights on how to successfully do business with the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). The event, held at NIST headquarters on March 2, 2010, featured NIST Director Patrick Gallagher and representatives of the Acquisition Management Division who spoke to NIST's mission, procurement strategies and priorities. After the presentations and Q&A, most participants lined up and met face-to-face with the presenters who stayed well after the program ended.

About On-Site Agency Visits

Each year, MCCC GovConNet facilitates on-site agency visits for government contractors to receive detailed information regarding a targeted agency’s key strategic direction, challenges and resources as presented by the agency head, chief information officer and small business directors. Presenters remain available for one-on-one networking with participants. In some cases, a facility tour is offered.

Registration is free and limited to space capacity.
