2012 State Legislative Accomplishments
In 2012, MCCC led the charge on many initiatives of importance to our members.
Expanding the State's Small Business Reserve – MCCC was a leader in expanding the Maryland Small Business Reserve (SBR) program. Now, small businesses can qualify for the program by meeting the employment or the revenue threshold, rather than both.
Employer Security Clearances Costs Tax Credit – MCCC was a leader on reshaping this legislation and creating a new tax credit. This one-of-a-kind credit gives an incentive to comapnies that build or maintain a Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF). To claim this credit, click here.
Tax Policy – MCCC has been a leader on tax policy issues, and we remain opposed to Combined Reporting and Sales taxes on business to business services because of their detrimental impact on our headquarter companies and our small businesses.
