2011 State Legislative Accomplishments

In 2011, MCCC led the charge on many initiatives of importance to our members.

InvestMaryland – MCCC was a leader in reshaping the InvestMaryland bill, propsed by Governor O'Malley, and advocating for its passage. InvestMaryland could generate up to $100 million in venture capital funds to invest in state-based companies. The money for the program is raised by auctioning off tax credits to insurance companies.

Tax Policy  – MCCC has been a leader on tax policy issues, and we remain opposed to Combined Reporting and Sales taxes on business to business services because of their detrimental impact on our headquarter companies and our small businesses.
