The Maryland General Assembly convenes for a 90-day session at the beginning of each calendar year. In 2014, the dates are from January 8 to April 7.

Key legislation is consistent with our Maryland Legislative Agenda and our priority issue areas. In the 2014 Legislative session, MCCC will be advocating for policies that promote a vibrant economy:
Tax reform: Support creating the Commission on Tax Policy Reform and Fairness
Business climate: Support legislation that minimizes a restrictive regulatory environment
Increased funding for economic development entities
Grow key sectors within the knowledge-based economy
Invest in eductional institutions from Kindergarten to Higher Education
Lower trade barriers to promote global commerce
