Director, Marketing and Communications
Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (MCCC) provides an effective voice for the diverse and vibrant business leaders of Montgomery County, Maryland, the Greater Washington Region and beyond. Its active membership includes small, medium, and large organizations representing a wide range of businesses and industries. Through effective advocacy, programs and events, MCCC helps its members succeed in business. An independent 501(c)(6), the Chamber is not affiliated with any national, state, local chamber or other organization. Guided by its Board of Directors, MCCC empowers its members to succeed by offering a broad array of business development opportunities. The MCCC GovConNet program offers government contractors a full spectrum of education, training, and networking forums to connect them to procurement & teaming opportunities and to Federal agencies. MCCC advocates to Federal, state and local officials for legislation and policies to ensure a prosperous business environment. In addition, our Public Policy Committees offer member input and engagement in key areas that shape business opportunities and grow the economy. Our annual signature Chamber events consistently attract over 800 business leaders and elected officials, providing tremendous networking and sponsorship opportunities. In addition, MCCC supports the mission of the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCCF) and its education initiatives. The Chamber has a staff of nine full-time employees.
JOB DESCRIPTION
We seek a Director, Marketing and Communications who shares a passion for the Chamber’s mission and has the experience, skills, and determination to have an immediate impact. The position calls for a proven, forward-looking leader who is excited by the challenge to create an innovative marketing strategy for programming that reaches local, national and international audiences. We are looking for a problem-solver who can develop and implement a communications strategy and presence that will advance the Chamber and Foundation’s identity and broaden awareness of its programs and impact. The main function of this position is to develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive marketing strategy that advances the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce and the Montgomery County Community Foundation, online and in print.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Establish a comprehensive marketing strategy and actionable plan.

Develop, implement and manage all communications strategy, including media relations and content that informs audiences of the goals and results of the MCCC and MCCCF programs and events.

Create, manage and maintain web-based and print collateral to support MCCC and MCCCF. Manage and update MCCC website using open-source CMS Drupal in a timely and efficient manner

Create an institutional identity / branding to promote programs working to ensure that the written tone and voice of the MCCC and MCCCF brand remain consistent.

Promote sponsorship and ticket sales for all programs and events.

Serve as a liaison between the press and staff ensuring that MCCC is receiving local promotion, regional visibility and national recognition.

Create and manage all advertising campaigns on a local, regional and national level.

Create the Web and graphics to promote the organization’s publications and online image, including website and social media initiatives.

Work collaboratively with staff to ensure that all events receive local promotion, regional visibility and national recognition.

Monitor budget and providing a timely analysis of the effectiveness of current marketing strategies.

Provide graphic design services for all print materials needed including but not limited to sponsorship, conference materials, surveys, e-newsletter and e-blasts for distribution via Constant Contact

Create event promotions/collateral/graphics for electronic, print for distribution for all Chamber and Foundation activities and events.

Organize and implement multimedia content for the web, such as videos, photo galleries and PowerPoint presentation.

Supervise and coordinate freelance design and print vendors.
TECHNICAL EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS

Must have knowledge of Photoshop/Adobe Creative Suite, FireWorks, Illustrator, PowerPoint, ability and willingness to learn in-house content management systems. MCCC equipment includes: iMac desktop computer, Adobe CS4 Suite design software bundle for Mac, MS Office software bundle for Mac, Nikon D40 DSLR Camera
